NECA has just released Series 1 of the Conan the Barbarian action figures.
NECA is known for producing some great figures for movies that deserve toys, but for whatever reason never had many in the past. You may remember that McFarlane Toys also has a Conan line, but the NECA series is more based on the movies, while the McFarlane series is based on the novels.
The first figure in Series 1 is "War Paint Conan", sporting an iconic pose, eyes blazing with barbaric fury! Next is "Pit Fighter Conan", featuring his vicious bladed gloves from his brutal days as a slave. Each 7" tall figure comes with movie-accurate accessories and a detailed display base.
Each retails for around $15.

NECA releases new "A Christmas Story" figure and box set
NECA acquired the license to the 1983 cult-classic film "A Christmas Story" in 2003, and has released many figures and related merchandise since then (including the always popular Leg Lamp). They just released a new character in the line, the bully Scut Farkus. Scut measures 7" tall, and you can buy him separately, or in the newly released 2008 4-pack box set which includes past favorites Ralphie (with Red Rider BB Gun and bar of soap), Randy, and Flick (with his pole). NECA is one of my favorite small toymakers since they regularly produce many unique, classic figures that deserve to be immortalized in plastic. Plus, their products are always of high quality. For a complete checklist of all "A Christmas Story" figures produced by NECA, go here.

Princess Bride - Dread Pirate Roberts kicks off new line from NECA
If any movie deserves a toyline, it's the Princess Bride. This classic comedy is finally seeing one thanks to the folks at NECA. These action figures have been in the works for over a year, and were pushed back a few times, but the initial release is finally here.
The first figure in the line, Dread Pirate Roberts, is due for release this week. He comes dressed in his black-masked pirate outfit, complete with sword and sheath. He is sort of a "preview" figure for the line, with 2 upcoming waves planned featuring: Wesley, Buttercup, Indigo Montoya, and Prince Humperdinck. NECA has stated that if sales go well they also hope to make some 2-packs, such as a Fezzik & Fezzini set. Inconceivable!
